It was discovered last week that makers of the popular free ZoneAlarm firewall software include a portion of XML code that reports back information on your internet use. I’m still searching for a good replacement, but in the meantime here’s how you disable the code. The company says it will fix the “bug” soon. In the meantime you can work around it by adding:
# Block access to ZoneLabs Server
127.0.0.1 zonelabs.com
to your Windows host file.
I found this to be a pretty useful trip. Post any recommendations for ZA alternatives you might have.

I was reading the news tonight and came across this story about president Bush’s statements about the Martin Luther King holiday.
The cutline on the image accompanying the article stated that Bush was met with the “NCAAP” president.
A Googling reveals that the NCAAP is the acronym for the National Coalition Acting for Autopsy Privacy which I’ll point out is a Web site that will not win any design awards. The site appears to be dedicated to preserving the autopsy reports of Dale Earnhardt.
So go register an account if you haven’t already. No more invites or cell phone needed. Featured on gmail’s homepage is a link to register for an account without an invitation or cell phone.
